Specialty Storage

This remodeling project was done remotely by using Matterport spatial mapping and then importing the measurements into a drafting program.

The client saw two main problems: The existing kitchen in this home was cluttered with two islands and one of them blocked the flow to the family room.

We opened up the space by removing one island and added a single island with plenty of seats for entertaining. This new design allows enough room for a new coffee bar in between the kitchen and family room. We were able to create a longer island by adding a walnut carving station at the end closest to the grill.

The client didn’t want to see the microwave so we cleverly tucked it away along with other small appliances behind retractable cabinet doors. In order to maximize the storage, a custom build wine walk up and refrigerator was added under the stairs. This little corner is perfect for stashing your favorite bottles.

Even more space was recaptured by creating a cute reading bench with pullout shoe storage under the rest of the stairs. Now this kitchen has multiple zones for daily use and entertaining with plenty of open space to the family room!
